Our Story

The story behind Breezy.

Built by a four-time quitter who finally figured out what every other product was missing — and made the tool she wished had existed.

A Letter From The Founder

Hey, I'm Amber.

I picked up the daily habit in college. I told myself it was "just a phase." Eight years later I was hiding it from my own kids, lying about it to my husband, and feeling that cold pit of shame every time I had to slip away for "two minutes."

I looked composed on the outside. On the inside? I was a 32-year-old hiding a brightly colored piece of plastic in my bag like a teenager. Every meeting started with me wondering when I could check on it. Every restaurant began with mapping the exit. The mental load of babysitting a device was exhausting me more than my actual job.

I tried to break four times.

The patches itched. The gum tasted like burnt rubber. The cold turkey gave me a week of rage so intense my daughter wouldn't sit in the same room with me. I switched to a "healthier alternative" and gained 12 lbs from constantly reaching for something that wasn't food.

Every product I tried promised the same thing: "replace the chemicals." So why did they all fail me?

Because none of them replaced the half I actually missed.

Here's what no one tells you: when you're stuck in a daily habit, your body isn't just craving chemicals. Your nervous system gets deeply stuck to the ritual — the hand to your mouth, the deep breath, the seven-second pause, the small "I'm taking care of me" moment that punctuates your day.

Take that ritual away — even with the chemicals gone — and your brain panics. That's why most break attempts collapse on day three. Not because of chemicals. Because of Restless Hand Syndrome.

So I built the thing I wished existed. A premium stainless steel inhaler + refillable scent sticks. No batteries. No electronics. No chemicals. No mist. Three signature scents (warm cinnamon, cool mint, bright raspberry) that give your nervous system exactly the ritual it's been missing — the weight, the draw, the breath — minus the chemicals you don't need.

The first prototype was ugly. I made it in my kitchen. I gave it to three other Breezy users I knew, and one of them — a 47-year-old dad of three — texted me at 2am saying, "I went the whole day without thinking about the device in my pocket."

I cried. Then I started ordering from a real manufacturer.

I also gave one to my friend's dad. He was 64. His cardiologist had just told him: "Now or never." He'd watched his own father die from the same thing 30 years before. He didn't need motivation. He needed a tool that didn't feel like white-knuckling. Today, his grandson knows what "Grandpa" smells like in the morning — just like himself.

Three years later, 4,255 people have used Breezy to finally do what every patch, every gum, every "healthier alternative," every cold-turkey attempt failed to do.

And I'm one of them.

Last month my daughter said: "Mom, you don't reach for it anymore." I almost cried again.

If you've tried everything and felt broken — you're not. The tools were broken. Breezy is what works when nothing else has.

I built it because I needed it. I'm sharing it because I think you need it too — whether you're 32 and hiding a colored plastic stick, or 64 and counting the milestones you still want to be there for.

The Four Attempts

From breaking to figuring it out.

Every failed attempt taught me what was missing — until the last one taught me how to build it.

ATTEMPT 01

The Patch

Lasted 9 days. The itching was unbearable and my hands felt empty all day. The chemicals were "covered" — but I was still reaching for something that wasn't there.

ATTEMPT 02

Cold Turkey

Lasted 4 days. Pure rage. I yelled at my daughter for asking what was for dinner. I went back the next morning. That's when I knew willpower wasn't the problem.

ATTEMPT 03

"Healthier" Loop

Lasted 14 months. Gained 12 lbs. Spent $1,800. Still felt the shame. Just swapped one loop for a slightly prettier one.

ATTEMPT 04

Breezy (the prototype)

Worked on Day 1. Because for the first time, I wasn't fighting the chemicals AND the ritual at the same time. The chemicals were gone. The ritual stayed.

What I Finally Figured Out

You're not stuck on chemicals. You're stuck on the ritual.

Your nervous system is hooked on the ritual — the hand to your mouth, the deep breath, the pause, the seven seconds of "I'm taking care of me."

Why does every other product fail?

Because they all fight the chemical half — and not a single one replaces the behavioral half. Patches numb the chemicals. Gum chews it. Cold turkey willpowers it. But your hands still feel empty.

Breezy is the only tool built specifically to replace the ritual — while removing the chemicals entirely. That's the whole insight. That's the whole product.
